Jason McCarty was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and is a third-generation commercial/industrial electrician. His career in the construction industry began at the age of sixteen while working as a material handler and laborer throughout his high-school summers. After high school and two years of college he entered and completed a five-year electrical apprenticeship program in Portland, Oregon.

Over the span of his twenty-year career McCarty has worked on and/or managed multiple construction projects, gaining the experience and knowledge outlined in Construction Leadership Success. The scope of these projects includes hospitals, schools, manufacturing facilities, industrial plants, corporate high rises, multi-resident high rises, retail establishments, and other facilities. The diverse nature of this work has provided McCarty with countless opportunities for studying the different management styles that foremen employ to run and complete their projects.

McCarty’s professional career as a journeyman electrician and foreman continues to shape his leadership and project and management philosophies.
